Scott Stewart is a writer, director, and producer working across film and television. He has written film and television projects for Amazon, Sony, Blumhouse, Disney, Hulu, MTV, Fox Television Studios, Universal Television, and others.
Recent work includes executive producing the hit Netflix horror series True Haunting for James Wan's Atomic Monster and co-executive producing the true-crime series Cabin in the Woods for Blumhouse and WB Discovery. He also directed the full-cast recording of James Patterson's Seven Hours to Live for Audible and Patterson Entertainment.
His feature work includes writing and directing Dark Skies for Blumhouse, which was recently named by Time Magazine as one of the 50 Most Under-appreciated Films of the 21st Century, as well as Priest and Legion for Sony / Screen Gems. In television, he has directed and executive produced pilots for hit series including Siren for Disney / Freeform, Dominion, based on his film Legion, and Defiance.
Before directing, Stewart co-founded the visual effects company The Orphanage and worked as a visual effects artist at Industrial Light + Magic. He studied motion picture production at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
